AFTERWORD

Both Audrey and Lloyd continued to paint and their work shown in exhibitions. They decided to become US citizens and received their final papers 17 June 1949.[223] They began a commercial business painting for advertisers and creating decorative boxes. The business was successful but interfered with their time to paint their own subjects. Audrey stopped painting when Lloyd died 13 February 1968.[224] Her last painting was of her granddaughter Elizabeth.[225] She passed away on 29 November 1984.[226] The talent of the Buller family passed to the next generation. Sean Murphy, son of Cecil, became the head of Ophthalmology at Mcgill University. He also embraced the arts both as a painter and as a benefactor serving as the President of the board of the Montreal Art Association.[227] Jennifer became a talented landscape designer. She designed gardens in Manhattan and throughout New England.[228] Penelope always had the desire to be a painter. In her forties with trepidation she showed her portfolio to her mother to ask whether she should pursue a career. With a resounding, “Yes!” she enrolled in The Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts. She has had multiple successful exhibitions. Her style is quite akin to that of her mother.[229]
